Dear Students and Parents,
Tomorrow, as you know we are not having school in observance of Mrs. Schaffer, our beloved friend and teacher's memorial in the church at 11:00.
On Monday we will have our annual field day. Students are permitted to dress down appropriately. Shoes and socks are required. Lunch will be provided for all students.
We will have our A.R final trip on Tuesday at Gatti Land . You may bring extra spending money, everything else is free.
Our last school day is next Friday, but it is only long enough for a closing Mass and awards. I hope to see you there.
This has sincerely been the BEST year. I feel honored to have been able to be apart of your lives. I know each and every one of you will go on to be successful in whatever God leads you to do. I am so very proud of you!
With all my heart,
Mrs. Casto

Field Trip, 21 Balloons Party, And Luau Basket
Don't forget our Pottery Place field trip this Friday. The cost is 10.00, unless you want a specific item.
We are celebrating an end of book party for 21 Balloons on Thursday. We did not get to have an end of book party for The Giver so I wanted to make sure we covered this one since it connects to all subject areas. If you want to share with the class a treat, you may. The rest of the activities are planned.
Fourth grade is responsible for the "Family Fun" raffle basket to be auctioned off at Father Dean's Luau. I am sure you have received the packets and emails. If you have not received the information, here is the most recent letter to parents from Carol Gail.
Dear St. Joseph Parents,
The event will also feature a CASH prize raffle as well as our famous classroom themed basket raffles. All raffle drawings will take place at the close of the Luau Party. The Cash prize raffle will award prizes of $500 cash, $400 cash, $300 cash, $200 cash and $100 cash. We are asking each school family to sell or purchase four “cash prize” raffle tickets. Raffle tickets are $10 each. Tickets will be sent home with students later this week. All tickets and money must be returned to the school office no later than Friday, May 17th to be included in the drawing.
Once again, we will be collecting items to apply to our class raffle baskets. Please review the attached file for a complete list of classroom basket themes. Please send in donated items no later than Wednesday, May 1st. Tickets will be sold at weekend masses prior to the Luau as well as at the event. Students will have chances to purchase basket raffle tickets during school hours prior to the Luau.
We are seeking event sponsors for the event. If you know of a family or business that would like to be a sponsor, sponsorship forms are available on the school website. Completed Sponsorship forms are due back no later than May 6th. Sponsorship dollars will offset event expenses. It’s a great way to advertise!
Thanks so much for your support! Hope to see everyone at this year's Luau!

Dear St. Joseph Parents,
It’s time for our annual spring fund-raiser!
This year (instead of the annual Spaghetti Dinner), St. Joseph Catholic School will be hosting 'Luau on the Lot'. We hope that we can count on you and your family to participate.
We are anticipating the Luau to be the school's #1fund-raiser of the year. The
staff and PTO truly appreciate your hard work and support you have given throughout the school year.
Our event will be held on Saturday, May 18th
on the St. Joseph Lot Property. It will be split into two parts. The
first part is called the Ohana Center. Ohana means “family” in Hawaiian. The
Ohana Center will be held from 12:00 noon to 5:00pm. It
will include a petting zoo, Hawaiian face painting, sand jar creations,
lei making,
digging for treasures, Hula Hoop ‘til you drop, Pass the Coconut,
Hawaiian Limbo, Kumu Hula Says, Hula Skirt Relay, Sand Bucket Toss, “All
the Poi”contest, and much, much more. The
cost for the Ohana Center is $10 per child. Children may purchase $10 wristbands in advance or at the property gate which will include unlimited
time on all games and activities during the Ohana Center.
Concessions will be sold during the Ohana Center hours: hot dogs, chips, slushes, and assorted candies.
The Luau will officially kick off at 4:00pm. Advanced admission tickets to the Luau will be $8 for adults and $5 for children. Event day admission tickets will be $10 for adults and $7 for children. Children 3 and under may eat free. The Luau is ticketed separate from the Ohana Center.
The musical talents of Kala DeHart and the RiverTown Band will start off the evening’s concert from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. Kala is a young, talented singer and songwriter, who with her band RiverTown has put together a collection of original music. Kala also does a large selection of cover music that includes Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Gretchen Wilson, and many others. Kala has become well known in the Tri-State and along with her band has played most every fair and festival in the area. Kala has opened for James Otto, Taylor Swift, Travis Tritt, Rick Huckaby and many others.
From 5:00pm to 7:30pm, a Hawaiian Dinner Buffet will be served. The buffet includes pork barbeque, hamburgers, assorted Hawaiian fruits, potato salad, baked beans, rolls and corn on the cob. Dessert will also be included at the Tiki Dessert Center.
The evening will continue with the musical style of the Oakwood Road Band. The band will take the stage from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The band includes one of our own St. Joseph parents, Jeff Faucette. For more than 20 years, the members of the Oakwood Road Band have lived out their rock ‘n roll fantasies. In the process, they have garnered a following of loyal fans who love to dance and party. Featuring songs from the ’50’s and 60’s to today from country rock to Motown classics, the Oakwood Road Band has been called one of the Tri-State’s quintessential garage bands. Their goal is simple - have a great time playing the music everyone knows and loves. With families and full-time careers, the band plays limited dates throughout the Tri-State.
